The Mescaline Show, Springfield, May 11, 1978

40 Years Ago Friday The Dead took mescaline (we think, we kinda know) acted very silly played a wild second set and I saw Bobby wear this for Werewolves of London in beautiful Springfield, Mass at my 14th show. The pre Drums piece as amazing. Also a Dick's Pick. Half of 25. So maybe 12 1/2.

Bobby's introduction of Candice is followed by Scarlet>Fire and Dancin', among the best music of 1978, all with wild playing and crazy singing, especially Fire and Dancin'.  Several times the band breaks out in laughter as the phrasing and the growls.

Parish says there was no mescaline for the band, but thousands and thousands of deadheads would like him to not be correct.  Not all his book was perfect for sure.  In Deadhead myth lore and legend, this was The Mescaline Show. Growl, haha.

 He must have been in a good mood at the band jumped into an 18 song first set. I loved when the 72 Dead would play China>Rider, then Playing In The Band, and then five more songs

Jerry talks about every groovy 1972 thing from the I-Ching to which members don't take drugs, to the Hog Farm, to The Band, to Kesey. Very fun day ahead for you folks.

We're Gonna Be Here For A Long Time, And Just Play Any Old Thing Show, April 11, 1969 Tucson

After opening the month with three days at the Avalon, the Dead started their April cross-country tour with a show at the U of A for 2,600 rock-starved Arizona fans.

This show almost never happened as University of Arizona repeatedly blocked efforts for the show to occur earlier in the year.  Luckily the band got this gig in before heading to Salt Lake City for a rare Utah appearance.  It is rumored that this is where Bobby saw a color TV in every room (not).

The Crytical>It's A Sin is quite good.

According to Deadbase, the tape is incomplete.  The show was something like this
